The bill aims to improve the quality assurance of cannabis products in California. All cannabis products are required to undergo testing, and a testing laboratory can retest a sample if the test was compromised due to equipment malfunction or staff error. The licensee must allow the department to access the products for testing. Retailers and distributors must provide a certificate of analysis to customers upon request. The bill also changes the quality assurance review process. Instead of having a quality assurance compliance monitor conduct random reviews, the department will conduct the reviews, which will also include a microbusiness or retailer's licensed premises.
