AB 1071: Criminal procedure: discrimination.

This bill aims to amend certain sections of the penal code to address discrimination in criminal procedure. It allows defendants to file a motion for disclosure of relevant evidence related to a potential violation of the prohibition on seeking, obtaining, or imposing a conviction or sentence based on race, ethnicity, or national origin. The court can then remedy a violation with any other remedy not prohibited by another law. The bill also makes technical changes and incorporates additional changes from another proposed bill, subject to certain conditions.
