<p>This bill establishes a new privilege for union agents and represented employees to refuse disclosure of confidential communications made while the union agent was acting in their representative capacity.</p> <p>The privilege applies to communications made between a union agent and a represented employee or former employee, and allows the employee or former employee to prevent another person from disclosing the communication.</p> <p>However, this privilege can be waived by the employee or former employee in accordance with existing law, and it does not apply in criminal proceedings.</p> <p>The bill does not waive the right to claim other existing evidentiary privileges, such as the attorney-client privilege or the physician-patient privilege.</p>
