AB 1153: Illegal disposal site abatement.
This bill aims to improve the cleanup of solid waste disposal sites in California. The California Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 requires the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery to initiate cleanup programs. This bill authorizes the department to expend funds to remove and dispose of recreational vehicles, develop enforcement strategies, and create local enforcement teams to combat illegal dumping. The goal is to protect public health and safety, as well as the environment, by addressing the issue of abandoned and improperly disposed waste.
