AB 1205: Mental health services: assisted outpatient treatment.
This bill makes technical changes to the existing law regarding assisted outpatient treatment for mental health services. The existing law requires counties to provide this service unless they opt out by a governing body resolution. Participating counties can pay for these services using funds from various sources, including the Behavioral Health Services Fund. A court can order a person to obtain assisted outpatient treatment if they have a mental illness and a history of non-compliance with treatment. The bill makes minor changes to the existing provisions, including the hearing rights and conditions for extending an initial treatment order.
