This bill requires the department of fish and wildlife to provide information on firearms to every person who purchases a hunting license, starting July 1, 2027. The information must cover safe storage of firearms, liability for parents and guardians who should have known their child could access a firearm, basic firearm laws, and how to legally transfer or relinquish a firearm. The department, in cooperation with the department of justice, will promulgate regulations to implement this requirement and include additional information on the hunting license.
