AB 1438: School finance: administrative employee-to-teacher ratio: Paradise Unified School District.
This bill amends a section of the education code to exempt a specific school district from a reduction in state support due to excess administrative employees. The exemption applies to a two-year period, from 2024-25 to 2026-27. The district must submit a report to the state superintendent and legislature by September 1, 2026, on its administrative employee-to-teacher ratio. The bill also declares the need for a special statute for the district and authorizes reimbursement for mandated costs if the state determines that the bill contains such costs. The bill takes effect immediately as an urgency statute.
