AB 148: Higher education budget trailer bill.
This bill aims to improve postsecondary education in California by making several changes to existing laws. It requires community college campuses to provide classified employees with access to food pantry services and report data on that access. The bill also modifies the middle-class scholarship program to avoid recalculation of student awards when federal, state, or institutional scholarships are identified. Additionally, it authorizes grant recipients to use funds for developing open educational resources and allocates unallocated resources to establish statewide open educational resources infrastructure.
