What AB 1532 does, verified December 7, 2025

The Public Utilities Commission will be required to report on the days that commissioners attend hearings, including by type, proceeding, and industry. The commission will extend a program requiring charter-party carriers of passengers to establish a program relating to accessibility for persons with disabilities until January 1, 2032, and extend the $0.05 charge for each completed trip. A violation of this program's requirements will be considered a crime, making the program a state-mandated local program. Reimbursement is not required for certain costs associated with implementing this bill. The bill will take effect immediately as an urgency statute.
