AB 1810: Firearms: dealer centralized list.

The bill aims to improve the centralized list of licensed firearms dealers. It requires the department of justice to remove individuals who fail to meet the list requirements, including those whose federal licenses have expired or been revoked. The department is authorized to remove individuals who fail to remedy specified violations discovered during inspections. Those removed from the list are subject to fines and are ineligible for placement for two years. The bill also requires the department to conduct yearly inspections of the top 10 firearm dealer locations with the highest percentage of recovered, illegally possessed, or suspected-to-have-been-used-in-crimes firearms. Instead of charging fees for inspections, the department will assess a reasonable annual fee, which cannot exceed 15% over the previous year or the necessary costs.
