AB 1880: PINK Alert.
The proposed law creates a new alert system, called a "Pink Alert," to notify emergency services about a pregnant person in need of shelter or emergency prenatal services. This system allows individuals to report the location of a pregnant person in need by texting a specified number. The alert includes information on whether the person needs housing or services. The goal is to quickly assist the pregnant person by taking them to the nearest hospital or shelter. The system is designed to be collaborative between the Department of Social Services and the Department of Housing and Community Development.
