AB 2047: Firearms: 3-dimensional printing blocking technology.
This bill aims to regulate 3-dimensional printing of firearms in California by introducing new laws to prevent the creation of untraceable firearms. The bill would require the state agency to investigate and publish guidelines for firearm blueprint detection algorithms to be used in 3-dimensional printers. The guidelines would be used to certify algorithms that meet performance standards and ensure they are used by 3-dimensional printer manufacturers.
