What AB 2124 does, verified August 19, 2026

<p>The bill requires the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) to establish a program by January 1, 2027, upon legislative appropriation, for analyzing legislation that imposes new requirements or affects electricity and natural gas ratepayers. The CCST must also develop conflict-of-interest provisions to ensure impartiality in these analyses. These provisions will be repealed on January 1, 2032.</p>
