AB 2477: Structural pest control.
This bill expands the scope of structural pest control licenses in California. Currently, unlicensed individuals employed by registered companies can apply pesticides under direct supervision for training purposes. The bill would allow unlicensed individuals to apply pesticides without supervision for a limited time if they complete a minimum of 80 hours of training and apply for a structural pest control applicator license. The bill also requires documentation to be maintained by supervising licensees. Additionally, the bill imposes a state-mandated local program on counties, requiring them to inspect and investigate structural pest control operators and registered companies. Reimbursement for costs mandated by the state may not be required for certain reasons.
