AB 2767: Juveniles: family finding.

This bill aims to improve the care and placement of juveniles by expanding the role of family finding in the child welfare system. Family finding activities will be conducted by county social workers to identify and locate adult relatives of the child, and to provide them with information about available services and support. Social workers will be required to notify relatives and kin and conduct outreach to them throughout the life of the case, unless discontinued due to certain circumstances. The bill also seeks to expand the confidentiality of information regarding children receiving child welfare services, allowing disclosure to relatives and kin without consent in certain situations.
