AB 2791: Public resources.
This bill aims to amend the Public Resources Code to make changes to forest management and coastal development regulations. It would remove a condition for the forest resilience exemption, allowing for the harvesting of certain trees without the supervision of a registered professional forester. Additionally, the bill would limit the California Coastal Commission's authority to review coastal development permits to state universities and private universities, rather than including state colleges in this exemption. The bill would also define a nonprofit organization for purposes of the act and make various nonsubstantive changes.
