This bill allows on-sale licensed premises to sell or give alcoholic beverages until 4 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, or specified state holidays within a hospitality zone. A hospitality zone is defined as a designated area within a city or county where additional serving hours are permitted. To establish a hospitality zone, a local governing body must adopt an ordinance that meets certain requirements and submit it to the department. The department will review the ordinance and issue a license to the premises if the requirements are met. An additional serving hours license can also be used by licensed premises in a special event hospitality zone, which is designated by the local governing body.
