What AB 432 does, verified March 9, 2026

This bill would require physicians and surgeons to complete continuing education courses on perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopausal care to receive credit, starting July 1, 2026, and ending July 1, 2032. It would also require osteopathic physicians and surgeons to receive the same credit for completed coursework. Health care service plans and health insurers would need to include coverage for evaluation and treatment options for perimenopause and menopause symptoms in their contracts and policies, issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026. Annual clinical care recommendations for hormone therapy would be provided to contracted primary care providers. No reimbursement would be required for certain costs associated with the bill.
