This bill would require the state energy resources conservation and development commission to adopt a virtual power plant deployment plan in the next update to the biennial integrated energy policy report after January 1, 2027. The plan would need to take certain actions and meet specified requirements. The commission would also need to develop a goal for load shifting to reduce net peak electrical demand and adjust this target in each biennial integrated energy policy report. Electrical corporations would need to annually report to the commission on their contribution towards meeting this goal. The goal is to reduce net peak electrical demand.
