AB 870: California Children’s Services Program: county designation.

This bill aims to expand the California Children's Services (CCS) program, which provides medically necessary services to individuals under 21 years of age with specific medical conditions. Currently, counties with a population under 200,000 can administer the program independently or jointly with the state. However, counties with a larger population must administer the program independently. The bill would allow counties with a population under 2,000 to designate another county to administer the program, provided the designated county meets certain CCS standards. This change would enable smaller counties to share the administrative burden and improve access to services for eligible individuals.
