AB 930: Elections and voting procedures.
The bill aims to amend the elections code to extend the deadline for mailed ballots to be considered timely cast from 3 days to 7 days after election day. It also allows voters to specify the order in which votes are recounted by the batch in which ballots were scanned or by county, if the recount involves more than one county. The bill prohibits unauthorized access to voting systems and protects access to voter personal identifying information. Voters requesting recounts must reimburse the county for the cost of each member of a recount board. A member of a special recount board must be eligible to register to vote in the state and an official appointed to supervise the board must meet specified qualifications.
