AB 967: Physicians and surgeons: licensure: expedite fee.
The bill requires the medical board of california to expedite the licensure process for an applicant who submits an application with an expedite fee. This fee is set by the board and cannot exceed the cost of expediting the process, which is currently $250. The expedite fee is paid by the applicant, and the board must process the application within a specified timeframe. The bill also requires that all moneys received by the board be paid into the state treasury and credited to the contingent fund of the medical board of california. The expedited licensure process is available to applicants who have a relationship with an active duty military member or hold a current license in another state. The provisions of the bill will be repealed on January 1, 2030.
