AB 973: Recycling: plastic trash bags: plastic packaging and products.
The bill aims to create a new program for recycling plastic packaging and products in California. A manufacturer of covered products, such as plastic bottles and containers, will be required to register annually and provide information about their products. The program will set annual minimum postconsumer recycled content percentages for covered products, and manufacturers will be subject to civil penalties for non-compliance.
