SB 1000: California AI Transparency Act.
The bill aims to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) transparency in California. It requires content providers to make available a disclosure verification tool at no cost to users, which must meet certain criteria. The bill also eliminates the requirement for providers to offer users the option to include a manifest disclosure in content created by their AI systems. Furthermore, providers must now include a latent disclosure stating whether the content is generated or modified by AI. The bill declares it will take effect immediately.
