SB 1070: Crimes: disturbing religious worship.
What SB 1070 does, verified April 27, 2026
This bill would amend the state's penal code to make it a felony to intentionally disturb or disquiet an assemblage of people met for religious worship by profane discourse, rude or indecent behavior, or unnecessary noise. The punishment for this crime would increase to a fine not exceeding $5,000, 16 months to 3 years in county jail, or both. The bill also provides that no reimbursement is required by this act.
