SB 1263: Contractors: debris removal.

This bill would add a new section to the business and professions code, which would regulate contractors performing debris removal work in areas affected by wildfires. The bill would prohibit contractors from engaging in debris removal in declared disaster areas unless they have a specified license or classification. However, during a declared emergency or disaster, licensed contractors would be required to pass a hazardous substance certification examination and comply with hazardous waste operation and emergency response requirements.
