SB 1428: Gravity-Based Energy Storage Well Pilot Program: marine invasive species: Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force: public lands.
This bill aims to correct errors in existing law by making nonsubstantive changes to definitions and clarifying cross-references. The state oil and gas supervisor will continue to authorize the conversion of up to 250 wells for use as gravity-based energy storage wells. A wildfire and forest resilience task force will be allowed to develop a comprehensive implementation strategy to track and ensure the achievement of its goals. The state lands commission will adopt regulations for ballast water management, and the port of oakland will be able to lease after-acquired lands for non-trust uses without requiring public meetings.
