SB 1429: Elections.

This bill aims to amend various sections of the elections code to improve the consolidation of elections. The bill would allow local governments to file resolutions with the county elections official instead of the county board of supervisors, at least 88 days before the election. The bill also changes who is authorized to canvass election returns for consolidated elections. Local governments would be able to authorize the county elections official or the elections official of another city, district, or political subdivision to do so. Additionally, the bill would eliminate the maximum limit of instruction cards provided to polling places and require a precinct board member to proclaim aloud at the polling place when the polls are open and closed.
