SB 22: Gift certificates.
What SB 22 does, verified December 8, 2025
<p>This bill would make gift certificates redeemable in cash for their cash value if they have a value of less than $15, instead of the current $10 threshold. Additionally, gift certificates donated to a nonprofit or charitable organization would be exempt from this redemption provision. The bill would also expand the definition of "gift certificate" to include electronic gift cards, taking effect on April 1, 2026.</p>
