SB 220: Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will be required to submit a plan to the legislature by July 1, 2027, for revising its composition to reflect the changes in the county's board of supervisors from 5 to 9 members by 2032. This change was approved by the voters in 2024. The plan will need to account for the increased number of board members and any necessary adjustments to the authority's operations. The bill also requires the state to reimburse the local agency for any costs mandated by the state, if the commission on state mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
