SB 320: Firearms: California Do Not Sell List.
This bill would add a new provision to the California Penal Code, allowing individuals who are prohibited from owning firearms to voluntarily register their names on a list, known as the "California do not sell list". This list is currently used to prevent prohibited individuals from purchasing or acquiring firearms. By registering their name on the list, individuals can prevent others from attempting to purchase or acquire firearms on their behalf. The list would be maintained by the Department of Justice and individuals could request to be removed from the list after a specified period of time. The information provided to register or remove from the list would be kept confidential and used only for the purpose of preventing prohibited individuals from purchasing or acquiring firearms.
