SB 413: Juveniles: case file inspection.

The bill aims to amend the confidentiality of juvenile case files in court proceedings. Currently, only specific individuals, such as the county counsel or city attorney, can inspect juvenile case files. The bill would expand this access to include county child welfare agency representatives in dependency proceedings and attorneys representing parties in civil proceedings filed by or on behalf of the person who is the subject of the juvenile case file. Additionally, attorneys representing individuals who have been subject to juvenile proceedings would also have access to the files. The bill would also require reimbursement for costs mandated by the state if the commission on state mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
