SB 524: Law enforcement agencies: artificial intelligence.
This bill would require law enforcement agencies to maintain a policy to include specific information in official reports generated using artificial intelligence. The policy would require a disclosure statement and the signature of the officer or agency member who prepared the report. The bill would also require agencies to maintain an audit trail that identifies the person who used artificial intelligence to create a report and prohibit contractors from sharing or selling information provided by the agency. Additionally, the bill would define terms and establish procedures for reimbursement of costs mandated by the state.
