SB 557: Child abuse: family resource centers.

<p>This bill would amend the existing law to redefine the term "family resource center". A family resource center would be defined as an entity providing family-centered and family-strengthening services embedded in communities, culturally sensitive, and focusing on cross-system collaboration to prevent child abuse and neglect and strengthen families. The center should serve as a hub for multigenerational support services, provided at no cost or low cost, and responsive to community needs and interests. It aims to build communities of peer support for families, develop social connections to reduce isolation and stress, and promote asset development through impact-driven and evidence-informed approaches.</p>
