What SB 691 does, verified August 15, 2026

This bill requires law enforcement agencies to update their policies on body-worn cameras to include a procedure for emergency service personnel to request the redaction of certain recordings. The updated policies must be in place by July 1, 2027. The bill also requires the state to reimburse local agencies for costs mandated by the state, if the Commission on State Mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
