SB 739: Transportation network companies: California Clean Miles Standard and Incentive Program.
This bill aims to improve disaster relief for individuals affected by disasters in California by enhancing the California Fresh Start (Calfresh) program. The program would provide short-term food assistance benefits to eligible households who are victims of a disaster. The state would be required to inquire about the ability of each county facility to provide timely and adequate service to Calfresh participants in the impacted area. Additionally, the state would be required to reimburse counties for any additional costs incurred to support the program. The bill would also ensure that the state provides necessary resources to counties to support the mobile issuance of electronic benefit transfer cards to recipients of disaster Calfresh benefits.
