California · Senate · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified August 25, 2026

What SB 969 does, verified August 25, 2026

The state department of developmental services is required to contract with regional centers to provide services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. A pilot project to test the feasibility of remote consumer services and supports using technology solutions is to be developed and implemented. A list of regional center services eligible for remote delivery is to be created. Guidance is to be provided to regional centers on how to inform individuals and their families of the option to receive remote services and how to operate remote services. Individuals and their families can voluntarily elect to receive remote services if it is determined in their program plan meeting that remote delivery would effectively meet their needs.
