A 10184: Relates to limiting the shift between classes of taxable property in the town of Haverstraw, county of Rockland for 2026-2027.

New York · Assembly · 2025–2026 Legislative Session · last verified September 26, 2026

What A 10184 does, verified September 26, 2026

The proposed law aims to limit the shift between classes of taxable property in the town of Haverstraw, Rockland County. The law would prevent any class from having a current base proportion that exceeds the adjusted base proportion or adjusted proportion of the previous year by more than one percent. To achieve this, the approved assessing unit would need to pass a local law or resolution allowing for such a change. If the computation of current base proportions would result in an excessive increase, the proportion of the affected class or classes would be limited to a one percent increase, and the assessing unit's legislative body would adjust the proportions accordingly to ensure they sum to one.
