What A 1058 does, verified January 6, 2026

The bill aims to amend the labor law to index unemployment benefits to inflation. The average annual and weekly wage will be calculated based on the previous year's data, adjusted for inflation using the consumer price index. This adjustment ensures that unemployment benefits keep pace with the rising cost of living. The bill will take effect on the first of January next succeeding the date it becomes a law.
