A 10707: Relates to reporting unmet need, which is the number of eligible individuals seeking participation in a program or service who are not receiving such program or service due to insufficient resources or capacity.
The proposed legislation aims to improve the reporting of unmet need for programs and services for the aging population in New York State. The Office of the State Comptroller will collect information from Area Agencies on Aging regarding unmet need, which is defined as eligible individuals seeking a program or service but not receiving it due to insufficient resources or capacity. The Office will provide a comprehensive report on the unmet need for each program or service throughout the state to the Speaker of the Assembly and the Temporary President of the Senate by December 31st of each year. This will help identify areas where additional resources or support are needed to address the aging population's needs.
