What A 10891 does, verified April 12, 2026

The proposed legislation exempts school districts located within a nuclear emergency planning zone from the zero-emission school bus requirements. This exemption allows these districts to avoid the need to purchase or lease zero-emission school buses. However, it does not prevent them from voluntarily purchasing or operating such buses. A list of qualifying school districts will be maintained by the commissioner. The exemptions will take effect immediately.
