What A 1231 does, verified January 11, 2026

The bill aims to clarify the definition of an office for a limited liability company and a partnership. An office is defined as the location where business activities are conducted, which can be the principal business location of the company, not just its registered agent's address. This change ensures that the office address is accurately reflected in public notices, such as those published in newspapers. The bill also updates the requirements for office addresses in various sections of the law, including those related to business licenses, permits, and public records. These updates aim to improve clarity and consistency in the application of the law. The changes take effect immediately, allowing businesses to update their records and comply with the new requirements.
