A 1295: Includes information about bystander intervention training in the department of labor's model sexual harassment prevention policy that includes information and practical guidance on how to enable bystanders to recognize potentially problematic behaviors and to motivate bystanders to take action when such bystanders observe problematic behaviors.
The proposed law aims to enhance bystander intervention training in the workplace. It requires model sexual harassment prevention training programs to be interactive and include bystander intervention training. This training should provide information on recognizing problematic behaviors and motivating bystanders to take action. The training should not create a duty to intervene or impose liability for failure to intervene. The law also states that the addition, amendment, and/or repeal of necessary rules and regulations should be implemented on the law's effective date.
