  STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 1301 2025-2026 Regular Sessions  IN ASSEMBLY January 9, 2025 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SLATER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to requiring child day care centers, family day care homes, and any child day care provider to notify the municipality in which they intend to operate of their intent to request such a license or registration The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 390 of the social services law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph (f) to read as follows: 3 (f) Prior to requesting a license or registration from the office of 4 children and family services, child day care centers, family day care 5 homes, and any child day care provider shall notify the municipality in 6 which they intend to operate of their intent to request such a license 7 or registration. This paragraph shall not apply to any child day care 8 centers, family day care homes, and child day care providers located 9 wholly within a city with a population of one million or more. 10 § 2.
