The proposed law aims to improve the submission requirements for reports of independent medical examinations in workers' compensation cases. A copy of each report must be submitted to the board, the insurance carrier, the claimant's attending physician, the claimant's representative, and the claimant. This submission must be done in the same manner, which can include electronic filing. The practitioner must also mail a copy to the claimant on the same day, unless the claimant opts out by providing written notice to the board. The law will take effect immediately.
