What A 1467 does, verified April 30, 2026

The bill provides for paid family leave following a stillbirth, which means employees can take time off to care for themselves or bond with their child after a stillbirth. This leave is in addition to other family leave options, such as caring for a family member with a serious health condition or bonding with a new child. The leave is intended to support employees who experience a stillbirth and provide them with the necessary time to grieve and recover. The law will take effect on January 1st, one year after the bill becomes a law, and will apply to all policies or contracts issued, renewed, modified, or amended on or after that date.
