What A 1485 does, verified January 8, 2026

The proposed law aims to regulate the commercial trade of human reproductive processes in the state. It requires the promulgation of regulations by the commissioner, in consultation with the transplant council. These regulations will govern limits on the number of live births conceived by a single donor, not exceeding ten live births, and establish a central tracking registry of semen donor information. The registry will collect and maintain accurate data on the number of live births, donor health information, and other relevant information. The law also ensures the anonymity of the donor and offspring, and regulates access to information maintained by the registry. The proposed law will take effect immediately.
