A 1643: Authorizes the commissioner of the New York city department of finance to create an air rights database recording transfers of such unused development rights.
The bill aims to create a searchable database to track and record transactions of air rights in the city. The database will include information such as the date of the transaction, the square footage of air rights transferred, and the consideration exchanged for the rights. The database will also contain the physical addresses of the properties involved and the identities of the buyer and seller. Additionally, the database will require the disclosure of the buyer's and seller's legal address and other relevant contact information. The database will be developed by the Commissioner of the Department of Finance in collaboration with the Chair of the Department of City Planning, and it will take effect immediately.
