A 1810: Relates to a housing authority's disposition of property.
The proposed law aims to amend the public housing law in New York. It requires a housing authority to consult with and obtain approval from an affected resident advisory board before leasing or selling any lands, buildings, structures, or facilities owned, leased, or controlled by the authority. This approval must be evidenced by a letter from the board after a majority vote of its members. The law also establishes that the lease or sale of such properties must comply with federal rules and regulations regarding property disposition. The changes will take effect immediately.
