What A 1830 does, verified January 9, 2026

The bill aims to regulate the sale or transfer of public housing properties to private entities. Any contract for the sale or transfer must be approved by the legislature. This means that the New York City Housing Authority can only sell or transfer properties to private entities if the legislature gives its consent. The bill also updates existing sections of the Public Housing Law to reflect these changes. The new provisions will apply to any contract for the sale or transfer of real property to a private entity on or after the bill takes effect.
